merb-core software package provides Transitional package for ruby-merb-core, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install merb-core
merb-core is installed in your system.
Make ensure the merb-core package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep merb-core *
You will get with merb-core package name, version, architecture and description in a table
